ihr oder Sie?

Two ways to say “you”

Besides du, German has two more words for “you”: ihr and Sie.

ihr — “you” when talking to two or more people

    Sie — “you” when addressing someone politely

      Tip: Polite Sie is always written with a capital S — anywhere in the sentence.
