A reflexive pronoun shows that the action goes back to the subject: you do something to yourself, not to someone else.
Ich wasche mich. — I wash myself.
Wir entspannen uns im Urlaub. — We relax on holiday.

Reflexive verbs
Many German verbs are reflexive: they take the pronoun sich, which changes with the person and stands in the Akkusativ. English often has a plain verb here: sich baden — to bathe.
